We’re a fresh, vibrant ceilidh band that’s making waves in the scene. Although we’re new under the KJ Ceilidhs name, we’ve been playing together for over 10 years through various bands and agency work. Over that time, we've built incredible friendships and a deep connection with the music, and now we’re bringing that energy to your events!
We’re proud to have made our debut at the Sheringham Lobster Potties Festival Ceilidh in 2024, and we were booked for the 2025 Friday Night Ceilidh at the iconic Straw Bear Festival under our jazzy duet line-up, White Bryony Ceilidhs. Between us, we’ve played 100+ weddings and parties in 2024 alone, and our talented musicians and callers have appeared at top folk festivals across the UK.

Led by Kathryn Johnstone on the diatonic accordion, our band is made up of some of the UK’s top folk musicians and callers, all of whom are dear friends and collaborators. Our ceilidh callers are some of the best in the country, known for their skill in getting everyone on the dance floor, no matter their experience level. Many of our callers perform at major UK folk festivals and have an exceptional ability to read the crowd, making each dance enjoyable and inclusive.
