Designed specifically for care home residents, this workshop is all about inclusion, enjoyment, and gentle movement. Whether your residents are able to move freely or prefer to stay seated, there’s something for everyone!

What We Offer

A Lively Introduction We’ll begin with a surprise entrance, dancing into the room to catch everyone’s attention and create an exciting start to the session. This fun introduction sets the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all.

Singing Traditional Songs Taking a break from dancing, we’ll sing two traditional songs linked to Morris dancing. These songs are easy to join in with, creating a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can participate, whether by singing along or simply enjoying the music.

Exploring Cotswold Morris & Hankies We’ll introduce Cotswold Morris, a style known for its use of handkerchiefs and graceful movements. We’ll explain how it differs from other styles and give out handkerchiefs to those with bells. Everyone will be invited to join in by waving their hankies or shaking their bells to the rhythm of the music.

Demonstration and Participation Our team will demonstrate some simple Cotswold Morris steps, and participants can join in by waving their hankies or shaking their bells in time with the music. It’s all about having fun and enjoying the rhythm, not about doing it perfectly.

Exploring Other Morris Dancing Styles To wrap up, we’ll show pictures of different Morris dance sides, including Border and Molly dancing. We’ll play music from these traditions, giving everyone a taste of the variety and richness of Morris dancing across England.
